The Regulators

Factions & Armies · Source: Fallout 3 (2008)

Overview

The Regulators are vigilante bounty hunters of the Capital Wasteland, an unlicensed force of self-appointed lawmen who track down criminals and evildoers for caps — and for justice.

History & Background

Founded by wastelanders disgusted with the wastes' lawlessness, the Regulators built a shadowy network of hunters who contract out their services to anyone with a grudge and a reward. Their methods are blunt and their justice is absolute, but in a region with no courts, they are often the only law to be found.

Details & Timeline

2277: the Regulators operate across the Capital Wasteland from their hidden headquarters, led by Sonora Cruz. They offer the Lone Wanderer bounties on the wasteland's worst offenders, rewarding the extermination of evildoers wherever they lurk. Every slain villain is another notch in the Regulators' ledger — and another cap in the hunter's pocket.

Wasteland Significance

The Regulators are the closest thing the Capital Wasteland has to law enforcement, and their brand of frontier justice shapes the region's morality. Their bounties give wastelanders a way to fight back against the wastes' predators, even as their vigilante methods raise uncomfortable questions about who gets to judge whom.
