The Alpha Grafton Monster is an exceptionally large and aggressive specimen of the Grafton Monster species, typically encountered as a 'boss' variant during organized hunting operations and community defense actions in Appalachia. Where a standard Grafton Monster stands twelve to fifteen feet tall, an Alpha can exceed eighteen feet, with proportionally enhanced musculature, hide thickness, and toxic projection capabilities.

Alpha Grafton Monsters are distinguished by several physical markers: their hide is darker and more heavily scarred, suggesting a longer lifespan and numerous territorial battles; the bloated chest cavity characteristic of the species is more pronounced and visibly distended with toxic material; and their behavior is markedly more aggressive, charging at threats rather than adopting the sizing-up behavior typical of standard specimens.

The toxic tar-like substance expelled by Alpha Grafton Monsters is more concentrated than that of their standard counterparts, causing rapid armor degradation and persistent damage over a wider area. Their melee attacks can stagger power-armored targets and cause structural damage to buildings and fortifications. The Grafton community maintains the highest bounties for Alpha Grafton Monster kills, reflecting the disproportionate threat these creatures pose to settlement security and travel through the region's mountain passes.
