Assaultron
Technology & Robotics · Source: Fallout 4, Fallout 76
Overview
The Assaultron is RobCo Industries' premier combat robot, a sleek humanoid war machine designed for frontline military service. Its combination of speed, precision targeting, and heavy weaponry made it a feared opponent on pre-war battlefields.
History & Development
RobCo developed the Assaultron as part of a push into military robotics contracts in the years before the Great War. After the bombs fell, the Institute recovered and reprogrammed many units, deploying them alongside synths as security and enforcement. The Mechanist also used Assaultron schematics in the Commonwealth.
Technical Specifications
Assaultrons mount a high-intensity head laser, bladed arms, and advanced targeting algorithms that allow them to track and flank targets. Many units carry stealth systems that let them vanish and reposition mid-combat. Their reactor cores are volatile, and destroyed units frequently detonate.
Wasteland Usage & Variants
Institute patrols, Rust Devil scavengers, and reprogrammed arena bots all field Assaultrons. Variants include heavier combat models and the unique A-27 units encountered in the Commonwealth. They are among the most dangerous robotic threats in the wasteland.
Notable Appearances
Assaultrons feature heavily in Fallout 4, from Institute missions to the Automatron DLC, and appear throughout Fallout 76's Appalachia.
