Overview

The Tesla Cannon is a heavy energy weapon that discharges arcing bolts of electricity, capable of frying multiple targets at once. It is a hallmark of Brotherhood of Steel advanced warfare.

History & Development

The Tesla Cannon derives from pre-war research into directed electricity, with prototypes stored in military facilities. The Brotherhood of Steel perfected and fielded the design in the Capital Wasteland. Later iterations appeared in Appalachia's arsenals.

Technical Specifications

The cannon projects electrical arcs that chain between enemies, dealing heavy energy damage to groups. It consumes large energy packs quickly and requires a charging cycle between shots. Its exotic components make repairs difficult outside Brotherhood workshops.

Wasteland Usage & Variants

Brotherhood paladins employ Tesla Cannons against robots and infantry alike, and Enclave remnants have fielded similar arc weapons. The Tesla Rifle is a lighter, more common derivative. Its distinctive crackle is a sound of fear for Brotherhood opponents.

Notable Appearances

The Tesla Cannon features prominently in Fallout 3's Broken Steel DLC and appears in Fallout 76, with Tesla armor complementing the weapon.
