C.A.M.P. (Construction and Assembly Mobile Platform)
Technology & Robotics · Source: Fallout 76
Overview
The C.A.M.P. is a Vault-Tec mobile construction device issued to Vault 76 residents, projecting fully assembled structures anywhere in Appalachia. It is the cornerstone of the Appalachian reconstruction effort.
History & Development
Vault-Tec developed the C.A.M.P. as part of its post-war reclamation program, designed to let vault dwellers rapidly rebuild civilization. Each C.A.M.P. contains blueprints for shelters, crafting stations, defenses, and utilities. Reclamation Day initiates receive one upon emerging into the wasteland.
Technical Specifications
The device projects a buildable area in which the owner can place structures and furniture from stored blueprints, subject to a construction budget. C.A.M.P.s can be packed up and relocated at will, and include a customizable fast-travel point. Advanced versions can link to resource nodes and workshops.
Wasteland Usage & Variants
Appalachian dwellers use C.A.M.P.s as homes, trading posts, and forward bases, while workshops offer larger, contested build zones. Vendors and display cases allow player economies to flourish. The system is a defining feature of shared-world wasteland life.
Notable Appearances
The C.A.M.P. system is the foundation of Fallout 76's base-building gameplay, introduced with the game's 2102 Reclamation Day setting.
