The Fort
Locations & Ruins · Source: Fallout: New Vegas (2010), Obsidian Entertainment — in-game world, terminals, and dialogue
Overview
The Fort is Caesar's Legion's headquarters camp on the eastern bank of the Colorado River, directly across from Cottonwood Cove, featured in Fallout: New Vegas. It is a brutal military encampment ruled by Caesar himself.
History & Background
The camp was established as the Legion pushed toward the Mojave, serving as Caesar's command post for the campaign against Hoover Dam. Caesar — a former Follower of the Apocalypse named Edward Sallow — rules from his tent, advised by his frumentarii spies and guarded by his most loyal legionaries. The player can confront Caesar here, alter the course of the Legion's war, or trigger the assassination that reshapes its leadership.
Geography & Layout
The Fort is a walled camp of tents and training grounds, with a central arena where captured enemies fight for the Legion's amusement. Slaves labor throughout, and the atmosphere is one of martial order and menace, with the Colorado River and the distant dam forming its backdrop.
Wasteland Significance
The Fort is the heart of the Legion's philosophy and the stage for some of New Vegas' most consequential choices, including the fate of Caesar and the rise of Legate Lanius.
